     Valérie CHENAY, was born circa 1855 in QC, Canada.1,2,3 She married Thomas GIRARD, son of Jean Baptiste GIRARD and Apolline GROULX, on 19 June 1873 in St-Hermas, QC, Canada.4,3 As of 19 June 1873, her married name was Valérie CHENAY.4 She died on 8 February 1941 in Rockland, ON, Canada,5,6 and was buried on 11 February 1941 in Rockland, ON, Canada.5

It is quite possible that Valérie Chenay and Catherine Chenay are the same person.

There is no birth record for a Valerie Chenay, however there is marriage record and a death record for her. She married Thomas Girard 18 Jun 1873 in St-Hermas, QC and her death record is under Valérie Chenay in Rockland Ontario 8 Feb 1941. However she is mentioned on both of the 1861 and 1871 Census returns for Lac-des-Deux-Montagnes, Québec. Both 1861 & 1871 census returns place her birth date at 1855, same birth date as for Catherine Chenay. But there is no mention of a Catherine Chenay on both these census returns!

There is a birth record for a Catherine Chenay: 29 Apr 1855, St-Hermas, QC.
There is not a mention of a daughter to Charles Chenay and Josephte Legault by the name of Catherine in either the 1861 and 1871 Census returns for Lac-Des-Deux-Montagnes, Québec.
In additon to research on Catherine Chenay, I could not find a death record for her from 1855 to 1862 in St-Hermas as well as St-Benoit. Researches elswhere did not provide a death record for a Catherine Chenay, daughter of Charles Chenay and Josephte Legault his wife.

Perhaps the Catherine Chenay born 29 Apr 1855 in St-Hermas, QC is the same person as Valérie Chenay who married Thomas Girard and died 8 Feb 1941 in Rockland Ontario.
