     Normand Paul CHENIER, was born on 30 August 1945 at St. Mary's Hospital|à l'hôpital St. Mary in Timmins, ON, Canada. He married Francine (Fran) DUQUETTE, daughter of Henri DUQUETTE and Ubaldine SIMON, on 21 November 1970 in Kapuskasing, ON, Canada.

     Magella Albert Isidore (Gérard) (Jerry) CHENIER, was born on 23 September 1912 in Hull, QC, Canada,^1,2 and was baptized on 24 September 1912 in Hull, QC, Godparents: Albert Gareau & Constance Chénier.^3,2 He received First Holy Communion on 14 June 1925 in St-Hilarion, Cobalt, ON, Canada. He married Violet Ethel SMITH, daughter of Louis SMITH and Délia LEFEBVRE, on 16 August 1937 in Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, Timmins, ON, Canada.^4,1 He died on 3 November 1981 in Windsor, ON, Canada, at the age of 69.⁵ He was cremated in November 1981 in Windsor, ON.⁵ Magella was an embalmer, an undertaker, a miner and a store clerk.

Research Notes: In searching Notre-Dame-De-Grace parish records for Hull, Québec at the ANQ in Gatineau the microfilm record clearly indicates his actual name at baptism was: Magella Albert Isidore Chénier.
I have found other records which use Gérard as another one of his names. Where this comes from is unknown. He was also known as Jerry. As a young boy I remember that one of his nick names was also Ti-moine.

     Violet Ethel SMITH, was born on 9 October 1918 in Cobalt, ON, Canada.¹ She received First Holy Communion on 12 May 1929 in Ste-Thérèse, Cobalt, ON, Canada. She married Magella Albert Isidore (Gérard) (Jerry) CHENIER, son of Agibe Candille (Achille) CHENIER and Fidélia (Délia) CLUSIAU, on 16 August 1937 in Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, Timmins, ON, Canada.^2,1 She died on 9 June 1986 in Timmins, ON, Canada, at the age of 67³ and was buried on 12 June 1986 at the Timmins Memorial Cemetery in Timmins, ON.³

     Jan (John) WOZOWCZYK, was born on 27 August 1919 in Nowa Huta, Eastern Galicia, Poland.^1,2 He married Dorothy Betty GOODE, daughter of Thomas Henry Lewis GOODE and Sarah Ellen BISHOP, on 21 March 1953 in Leicester, Leicestershire, England.³ He died on 14 December 2014 at Benetas St. Pauls Court, in Seaford, Victoria, Australia, at the age of 95.^4,1

JAN WOZOWCZYK: 27 AUGUST 1919 – 14 DECEMBER 2014

Jan was born in Nowa Huta, a small village in the then Polish district of Buczacz in Eastern Galicia. Following the Russian invasion of Eastern Poland in 1939, he and most of his family were deported to a labour camp at Winokurka near Swierdlowsk in Siberia in 1940.

In 1942, leaving his family in Siberia, he joined the Anders Army, travelling through the Middle East and Africa to England where he joined the 1st Polish Parachute Brigade. Following training in Scotland, he took part in the Battle of Arnhem where he was taken prisoner, spending time in Stalag XIIA (Limburg) and IVB (Mühlberg).

Following the war Jan settled in Leicester, England where he married Dorothy and raised his family. He and Dorothy emigrated to Melbourne, Australia at the end of 1987 to be near their son, Stefan. He remained proud of his Polish roots and in 2000, 58 years after he last saw his Polish family, Jan returned to Poland and was reunited with his 5 sisters and their families.

Jan and Dorothy celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2013. Jan died peacefully in Melbourne on 14 December, 2014 and is survived by Dorothy and children Linda, Stefan and Patricia.

A gentle and much-loved man who had a truly remarkable life.

     Dorothy Betty GOODE, was born on 19 September 1921 in Leicester, Leicestershire, England.¹ She married Frederick John George ABBOTT, son of Percy George ABBOTT and Gertrude Louise HODGKINS, on 23 July 1946 in Leicester, Leicestershire.² She married Jan (John) WOZOWCZYK, son of Antoni WOZOWCZYK and Filomena TURKIEWICZ, on 21 March 1953 in Leicester, Leicestershire.³ She died on 9 January 2015 at Benetas St. Pauls Terrace, in Frankston, Victoria, Australia, at the age of 93.⁴

     Stefan Eryk WOZOWCZYK, was born on 15 December 1953 in Leicester, Leicestershire, England. He married Rhonda Elizabeth COLE, daughter of Keith Springfield COLE and Marie Emily KANE, on 2 March 1986 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

     Patricia Elizabeth WOZOWCZYK is a Government Employee. She, was born on 5 April 1962 in Leicester, Leicestershire, England. She married Alan RICHARDSON on 20 June 1986 in Leicester, Leicestershire.¹

     Frederick John George ABBOTT, was born on 13 November 1921 in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, England.^1,2 He married Dorothy Betty GOODE, daughter of Thomas Henry Lewis GOODE and Sarah Ellen BISHOP, on 23 July 1946 in Leicester, Leicestershire, England.³ He married secondly May UPTON in 1950 in Leicester, Leicestershire.⁴ He died on 7 September 1993 at the Red Cliffs District Hospital in Red Cliffs, Victoria, Australia, at the age of 71^5,6,7 and was buried on 10 September 1993 at the Lawn Cemetery, Grave B035 in Red Cliffs, Victoria.^8,6 Frederick was a motor mechanic.

     Rhonda Elizabeth COLE, was born on 27 September 1950 in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.¹ She married Stefan Eryk WOZOWCZYK, son of Jan (John) WOZOWCZYK and Dorothy Betty GOODE, on 2 March 1986 in Melbourne, Victoria.
