She died on 28 June 1934 in Ottawa, ON, Canada, at the age of 81⁵ and was buried on 30 June 1934 at Notre-Dame Cemetry in Hull, QC, Canada.⁵

     Louis CHENIER, was born on 19 October 1856 in Buckingham, QC, Canada,¹ and was baptized on 2 November 1856 in St-Grégoire-de-Naziance, Buckingham, QC, Canada. Godparents: Joseph Joannis & Olympe Chénay (Chénier.)¹ He married Anne WELSH, daughter of William WELSH and Marie Léa MARTEL, circa 1880.² He died on 15 August 1923 in Hull, QC, Canada, at the age of 66³ and was buried on 18 August 1923 in Hull, QC.³

Research Notes: I have been researching this missing link for about 20 years. The only possibility that Louis' parents could be Louis Chenier & Chantal Ladéroute-Séguin is because he is the only one so far that fits the necessary requirements. Also one of their children is named Jeanne Chantal! Louis Chenier is probably the one born 19 Oct 1856 in Buckingham, Qué. He was baptised 2 Nov 1856. Searching my records of the CHESNAY & CHENIER databases does not reveal any other Louis Chenier that meets the necessary personal events. Some research into the witnesses to other family members' births, marriages, and death records might be a possibility. Not done yet is the research into each of their children. Perhaps microfilm records might reveal witnesses etc.
Research done in April 2003: Hull Census of 1891 shows Louis as 34 years old and his spouse Anna Welsh as 29 years old. (Louis born around 1857: 1891 - 34 = 1857)
Hull Census of 1901 shows Louis as 49 years old and his spouse Anna as 39 years old. (Louis born Nov 1851: 1901 - 49 = 1852)
BMD of St-Grégoire-de-Naziance, Buckingham indicate Louis (son of Louis Chene & Jeanne Chantal Seguin-Laderoute) was born 19 Oct 1856
What are we to make of the 3 different birth dates? Obviously the census returns indicate that Louis probably did not really know his exact birth date!
NOTE: In Louis and Anna's marriage their first child is named Jeanne Chantal, which is the same name as Louis' mother's first names: Marie Jeanne Chantal Séguin-Ladéroute. This is about the strongest indication that this Louis in this branch is the same as the Louis as son of Louis Chene and Marie Jeanne Chantal Séguin-Ladéroute.
In the 1891 Hull Census Return it indicates both Louis & Anne were residing at 156 Rue Bridge with their two children: Jeanne, 5 years old and Mary Eva, 1 year old.
