Elizabeth BOND
#7982
Elizabeth BOND, was born on 19 May 1795 in Carleton, QC, Canada, 1,2,3,4 and was baptized on 2 August 1795 in Pointe-St-Pierre, QC, Canada. 5 She married William "Bill" MALONEY, son of William MALONEY and Johanna (Josette) (Jean) BECKER, on 11 October 1815 in St-Bonaventure, Bonaventure, QC, Canada. 6,7 She died on 22 September 1816 as a result of the sinking of the ship "Gertrude" in the Rivière-Madeleine, Gaspé, QC shortly after her marriage, hence no children from her marriage at the age of 21 8,9 and was buried on 27 October 1816 in Pointe-St-Pierre, QC. NOTE: Possibly an error in presenting information in the church register as the burial date preceded the death date, i.e. buried 22 Sep 1816 but died 27 Oct 1816. 10 The parish of records of St-Pierre-de-la-Malbaie for the year of 1901 records the fact that as many as 225 graves from the ancient burial site of St-Pierre-de-la-Malbaie were re-interned and blessed on the 18 Nov 1901 at the new parish cemetery in Barachois. Therefore the remains of Elisabeth Bond are more than likely to have been re-buried in the parish cemetery of Barachois. 11
