HISTORY OF ST.STEPHEN'S ANGLICAN CHURCH, BUCKINGHAM, QC:
Religious services were held in Buckingham by travelling missionaries in the sawmill cookhouse from 1823-1845. In 1837, the first Protestant place of worship was erected and was used by travelling missionaries of different denominations. The first resident Anglican minister was the Rev. Richard L. Stevenson in 1850.
In 1852, the first Anglican church was built of wood and in 1860, St. Stephen's, Buckingham was consecrated. In 1893, church services were held in the White School House, later known as the Chapel Hall, while a new stone church was built to replace the wooden structure. The second St. Stephen's Church was consecrated on September 20, 1903. In 1963, a parish hall was attached to St. Stephen's to add extensive office and meeting room space.
In 1995, the 150th anniversary of the parish was celebrated. The church hall was dedicated to the Rev. Frank Toope (a former rector) and his wife, Jocelyn, on June 18, 1995. Restoration and repairs were made on the church property from 1997-1999. St. Stephen's is in the parish of the Eastern Outaouais.

Les services religieux ont été tenus dans Buckingham par les missionnaires voyageant dans la cuisine de scierie de 1823-1845. En 1837, le premier lieu de culte Protestant a été érigé et a été utilisé par les missionnaires voyageant de différentes dénominations. Le premier ministre anglican local était le Révérend Richard L. Stevenson en 1850.
En 1852, la première église anglicane a été construite du bois et en 1860, St.Stephen, Buckingham a été consacré. En 1893, les services d'église ont été tenus dans la Maison Scolaire White, plus tard connue comme la Chapelle Hall, pendant qu'une nouvelle église en pierre a été construite pour remplacer la structure de bois. L'Église de la deuxième St.Stephen a été consacrée le 20 septembre 1903. En 1963, un hall de paroisse a été attaché à St.Stephen pour ajouter le bureau étendu et l'espace de pièce de rencontre.
En 1995, le 150ème anniversaire de la paroisse a été célébré. L'église a été dévoué au Révérend Franc Toope (un ancien recteur) et sa femme, Jocelyn, le 18 juin 1995. La restauration et les réparations ont été faits sur la propriété d'église de 1997-1999. St.Stephen est dans la paroisse d'Outaouais de L'est.
